OK. Reading this headline got me excited mainly due to curiosity and then outraged because I really do care about the education system in the United States. What could have this school done? What laws did they break that caused a 15,000 fine? Were drugs being sold in the school? Did another teacher have a sexual relationship with a student? Was the principal or teachers in the school turning a blind eye to some kind of corruption or possibly involved themselves in some sinister plot?
At first glance, I thought maybe the $15,000 fine was due to the useless AIMS testing that school administrators fear and maybe tried to bump up their scores for David High School to continue to receive allocated government funding. All of my guesses were wrong; very wrong.
